Very good Wives is Hard to Find

May 17, 2023

A charming follow up to Tiny Women, Great Wives will take the March girls three years in. Meg is around to get married, Jo is definitely seeking to launch a literary profession and anständig in her headstrong nature, Beth has suffered terribly out of scarlet fever, and Amy is growing up and maturation rapidly. Girls still have much to know, but this time the lives are more serious. Louisa May Alcott is extremely Victorian in her teachings, emphasising the need for girls for being obedient, personal governing and faithful to God. For a few modern readers this can be a bit too preachy.
